The Dogs
the RACE TEAM
These dogs make up my race pool for 6-dog sled and rig races. As the season progresses, these are the dogs that are typically running further and faster, which separates them from the B Team dogs.
the B Team
These dogs are active in harness, but may not run at the same level as the race team. My B Team consists of dogs who prefer slower speeds, shorter distances, or just don’t like racing. The pace of this team is ideal for older dogs easing into retirement or younger dogs first learning the ropes. It’s also a good way for dogs recovering from injuries to ramp back up.
Puppies
Puppies are too young to run, but they are the future of the team!
Retirees
When our dogs get older, they usually tell us when it’s time to hang up the harness. In my experience, this usually happens when their age reaches the double-digits. No matter when they retire, they stay with us, and remain a big part of the pack for the rest of their lives.
In Memoriam
Dogs who have earned their silver harness and are traveling the trails of the great beyond.
