Kuiper

Kuiper was bred by my good friend, Megan, of Yukikaze Siberians. After Dexter’s passing, I was on the lookout for another working-line Siberian to keep my team moving forward. I have to be very particular with new additions, since my dogs are all house-dogs and need to get along with one another. I knew Megan’s gal, Yona, had an extremely sweet and friendly temperament. In fact, she has always reminded me a bit of my Willow (who I wished I could have had puppies from).

I had a few different litters in mind, but they either fell through or weren’t the right fit. When Megan offered a spot on Yona’s puppy list, I snatched it up and a few months later, Eggbert—I mean Kuiper—became mine!

Kuiper is an extremely chill and easy-going dog. He is very tolerant of other dogs and never starts fights. Most of all, he absolutely adores every human he meets. He stands up on his hind legs and demands hugs. He also loves children and will press his whole body against them for snuggles.

Although his temperament is phenomenal, his working drive is a bit unusual. He does not scream his head off on the line like my other dogs. He keeps a tight line, but sometimes seems a bit distracted. He did seem to really enjoy getting into longer runs, so I’m hopeful that’s where he’ll shine the most.

Kuiper’s lines have been impacted by ARVC—a genetic heart condition that can cause sudden death. We work closely with a cardiac vet to keep tabs on his heart and hopefully catch any changes before they cause harm.
