Artemis
Artemis was bred by Jaye Foucher of Sibersong Sleddogs, my long time, trusted source for incredible working dogs! Even though Jaye moved all the way to Alaska, we managed to get Artie here to join team Spitfire. Both of her parents made Jaye’s Iditarod team and she was almost conceived on the Iditarod trail, so she definitely has high caliber performance in her DNA.
This litter was especially enticing because of my super-leader, Hopper—who shares the same father. Jaye posted a photo of Artie (then named “Flora”) which kept tugging at my heart. She was looking at the camera with such a Hopper expression. I knew right then, I had to get her.
Artemis has proven to be incredibly smart and handler-focused. She started doing (very low) agility jumps on her first day here, which is something Hopper also excels at. I’m excited to see how she matures and hope to have another super-leader on the team soon!

Artemis is named after the NASA mission, Artemis II, which was a crewed flyby of the Moon in April, 2026. Additionally, Artemis is the Greek goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, and of wild animals—a nod to her original litter-theme name, “Flora”.
